Internet saftey.

The reason that you don't want to put personal information on the Internet is so that you do not have someone that you don't know able to access your information. Because when someone is able to access you info they can seriously mess up your life. So make sure that when you post something on the Internet that you think twice and make sure that it cannot harm you in any way.

More paper prototyping. 12-9-10

Today we are going to keep on working on the paper prototype which is fun as far I am concerned.  We are having an Internet crisis which causes blogger not to function, which is unfortunate. We worked on the paper prototype which looks very cool and it is starting to come together. Next time I will work on it some more so that we can finish it up before we go home for Christmas.

Paperprototype 12-3-10

Today we worked heavily on the paper prototype.  It looks pretty awesome and I am starting to get excited about the game.  We have some great ideas!!  The game is going to be awesome, we have a very cool setup and it works very smoothly.  Today is Friday which is definitely a good thing.  Next time we are going to continue on the paper prototype.

Working in flash 12-1-10

Today I worked on writing my game idea in flash. Flash is kind of complicated but I am slowly (and I mean slowly) getting a hang of it. I made pretty good progress and will continue next time as well as figuring out who is going to do what when we finally start on the game. And then we will be on to the paper prototype. 

Mini Game and Imagining your game follow up blog.

I found that it was pretty difficult to do the Mini Game project but it was definitely a good way to familiarize yourself with flash and get to know how to make symbols, actions, and key frame.  If only I understood it better it would be great.  The best part of the topic was seeing how numbers and letters, when arranged in the proper order (which gave me difficulty) made something move.  The wost part was trying to think in a computer/Flash sort of way, which proved to be more difficult than what I had imagined.  The part that I look forward to most in the game construction is when it will all come together.  I am most interested in a strategy game because I think that they are the most interesting and the least boring.
Today I spent my time copying, pasting, and editing, although not very much in Flash but I will focus on that next time.

The Game Blog, Imagining your game, followup.

We are designing the game for ages 11-16. It will tell the players how to be more economically minded, and it will teach you how to act in a more environmentally friendly manner. The game will take place in four various landscapes in different parts of the world, in the desert, plains, mountains and sea shore.
It will teach the player what they can do to help, and how important it is for us to use alternative energy. It will also teach how different kinds of energy adapt to certain landscapes so that the player will be able to get maximum efficiency out of the different methods. The game will be more hands-on than if it were a quiz, and make it so that the player doesn't have to know anything before he or she plays the game.

Buttons are frustrating

Today I didn't get a whole bunch done, but I am sure that I am going to do more next week. I haven't done a lot on the game yet but there is still much to come, I am sure!!! Next time I hope to delegate the game out to each of us, so that we, or at least I  know what it is that I need to do.

Drawing!!

Today I did drawing in flash, it is fun although very repetitive. I am still learning lots from all of this stuff, but I am enjoying every bit of it. I am sure that this is a very worth while class because I am learning a lot of interesting stuff that I wouldn't learn other wise. I am also very glad that I ended up with a team member who actually understands flash, it has already come in very use full several times. And I am sure that they will several more times to come! So I guess that's all for now, see ya next week.

Its Friday!

That's is definitely a good thing. Today I learned some more on Flash, thanks to akantorkiller. Currently I am working on a type of slide show, game explanation/paper prototype.It is alot of fun working on something other then mini game project. I believe that our game will be awesome because we have a very good game idea and also good computer skills. I don't know what else to write, so see you on tuesday.

Today I worked on imagining my game. Flash is more difficult than it seems, that is for sure. I am slowly but surely learning how to use it, and maybe some day I will be good at it.Hopefully!  I really think that our game could be and I am sure that it will be really awesome, because we have a good very idea.  

Its FRIDAY!!!

Its Friday and I am glad that it is.  Today I finished my mini game intro, and started in flash on my "game explanation".  I am not very familiar with flash yet but it is yet to come and when it does it will be a glorious day, and I am looking forward to it.
Imagining my game is quite easy although I am sure that it will be more difficult to make.  I think that Adventure and Strategy are going to be key to make this game very AWESOME and good.  

ENERGY APOCALYPSE

That's right ENERGY APOCALYPSE is the name of the game. And we are so rolling with it! Today we came up with a name and we registered our game idea. I am almost done with my mini game project so then we will work on paper prototype, which sounds sort of difficult. But I am sure that team Geburtstag will do just fine.

Flash

Flash is quite a Flashy place! I am starting to get a hang of it thanks, to Akantorkiller. Today I did several more of the mini game project requirements. They are fun althiugh I think that it will be more interesting once we start with real game, which I hope is going to be awesome.

Flash

Flash is very interesting, and I am having alot of fun learning how to use it. Today I did several more thing using Flash and enjoyed it. So far I have very good feelings about this class, my team, and this whole subject in general. And it is the end of the week which is definatly a good thing.

Started flash.

I started Flash and it is awesome, I can't wait till we start working on the games. It is really cool and pretty easy to use, wich is a good thing. I am really glad that I am in this class because it is alot of fun and easy. So far I have finished one part of the mini game thing , and lots of toher stuff.

Today I continued down my projects page and played some games. I entered a whole bunch interesting wikipedia links, check them out they are pretty cool. They all have to do with world energy crisises. I also continued to learn more about how to use the globaloria site. Its not a very long blog but its all that I can come up with today!

Strategy!!

I am most excited about strategy games because you can always learn something while playing them. And they tend to be simple to play although fun. Strategy games are also forgiving and you can always see how to play differently, in  order to progress. They are usually quite interesting and I am always willing to play a strategy game:) Today I worked on Playing to Learn and I am  getting closer to Mini game.

We have come up with a topic!

Today we came up with a topic for Team Geburtstag. It is the world energy crisis, see link below. We are looking at the oil depletion timer, which says that we only have 13834 days left of oil , which is approximately 40 years based on our current oil consumption. Pretty much when it all comes down to it we need to start looking for a good alternative.

The video is interesting because it addresses the problems that many people refuse to adress. It adresses the fact that we are running out of Coal, Gas,Oil, and natural resourceses in general.
We are running into lots of obsticles!!

Still getting started.

Today I got some more editing done on my profile.I added a whole buch about myself, and how I spend my time. Check it out! I also continued researching on US and world events. I haven't found anything that really catches my eye, but I am still looking. We haven't come up with a team name yet but I believe that we are both thinking about it.
PS: I am glad that it is Friday.

Lots of possabilities!!!!

I have formed a team and we are starting to look at the possabilities for a game. We are focus on world events, at the moment we are sort of unsure what the game will be exactly. But we need to get a move on because the dead line is getting nearer.

New to Globaloria

I am new to Globaloria! I am not entirerly sure what exactly I have gotten into but so far all is well. I hope to have a fun time as well as get to know computers more in depth, and be able to make some awesome games.
